Comparing Adapted Physical Activity with Education for Patients with Neurocognitive Disorders
Adapted Physical Activity Education in Patients With Neurocognitive Disorder: Single-blind, Single-center Randomized Controlled Trial
This study is testing whether adding education about physical activity to a workout program helps people with early-stage memory problems feel better and improve their overall quality of life more than just the workout program alone.

What this trial studies
This study compares the effects of a program of Adapted Physical Activity (APA) alone versus APA combined with a Physical Activity Education program (PAE) in patients with mild or early major neurocognitive disorders. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two conditions and will undergo three evaluations: at the start of the study, after three months of intervention, and three months post-intervention. The researchers hypothesize that the combination of APA and PAE will lead to greater improvements in physical activity levels, cognitive function, and quality of life compared to APA alone.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals diagnosed with mild neurocognitive disorder or early major neurocognitive disorder.
Not a fit: Patients with moderate or severe neurocognitive disorders, significant depressive syndromes, or those who are already sufficiently active may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the physical and cognitive well-being of patients with neurocognitive disorders.
How similar studies have performed: While similar approaches have been explored, this specific combination of APA and PAE in neurocognitive disorders is relatively novel.
