Combining water aerobics and metacognitive training for people with psychosis
Efficacy of the Combination of Water Aerobics and Metacognitive Training (MCT) on Psychological and Physical Health Variables and Their Relationship With SP1 and SP4 Biomarkers in People With Psychosis
This study is testing whether combining water aerobics with metacognitive training can help people with psychosis feel better compared to doing each activity on its own.

What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a combined intervention of water aerobics and Metacognitive Training (MCT) in individuals diagnosed with psychosis. Participants will be assessed on various clinical, cognitive, metacognitive, psychosocial, and physical health variables. The study will compare the outcomes of the combined intervention against each intervention administered separately. Additionally, it will investigate changes in specific biomarker transcription levels associated with the interventions.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 18 to 55 with a diagnosis of psychosis who are stable and willing to participate in both water aerobics and MCT.
Not a fit: Patients with severe hostility, lack of cooperation, or those with substance dependence disorders may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to improved mental health outcomes and overall well-being for patients with psychosis.
How similar studies have performed: While the combination of physical activity and cognitive training is promising, this specific approach has not been widely tested in prior studies.
