What this trial studies
This observational study involves enrolling patients who are undergoing cardiovascular procedures or treatments at the University of Kentucky. It aims to collect biopsy samples to enhance the understanding of molecular, cellular, and tissue-level processes associated with various cardiac diseases. The ultimate goal is to discover new diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets that could improve the management of cardiovascular conditions.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older who are being evaluated for a cardiac condition or undergoing a clinically indicated right heart catheterization with biopsy.
Not a fit: Patients without a cardiovascular diagnosis or those under 18 years of age may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for patients with cardiovascular diseases.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies focusing on biopsy collection for understanding cardiac diseases have shown promise in identifying biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
