What this trial studies
This observational study aims to gather medical information and collect biospecimens, including blood and tissue samples, from patients diagnosed with pancreatic cancer or other pancreatic disorders. The primary objective is to create a resource bank that facilitates the discovery of biomarkers for risk assessment and early detection of pancreatic diseases. Patients will undergo sample collection and complete questionnaires while their medical records are reviewed to support future research in targeted therapies and screening methods.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals with known or suspected pancreatic diseases such as pancreatic adenocarcinoma, islet cell cancer, or pancreatitis.
Not a fit: Patients under 18 years old, those unable to provide informed consent, or prison inmates may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved screening and treatment options for patients at risk of pancreatic cancer and other pancreatic disorders.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in utilizing biospecimen banks for cancer research, indicating that this approach is promising and has been validated in similar contexts.
