Collecting clinical, nerve conduction, electromyography, and ultrasound data in adults with peripheral neuropathy

An Observational Prospective Study on Patients With Peripheral Neuropathies Explored With a Combined Clinical, Neurophysiological and Nerve Ultrasound Approach- REG-NP

Casa di Cura Dott. Pederzoli · NCT07437989

What this trial studies

This prospective observational project enrolls adults with diagnosed peripheral neuropathy who provide informed consent during routine clinic visits. Investigators will record demographic and clinical history, perform a neurological exam, and obtain nerve conduction studies, electromyography, and neuromuscular ultrasound as clinically indicated. No experimental treatments are given and all procedures follow usual clinical practice. At study completion, researchers will perform statistical analyses to describe patterns, correlations, and diagnostic findings across the collected dataset.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Adults (≥18 years) with a diagnosed peripheral nerve disorder who can give informed consent and are willing to undergo routine neurological examination and electrodiagnostic and ultrasound evaluations are ideal candidates.

Not a fit: Patients who cannot give informed consent or who do not undergo the listed diagnostic tests are unlikely to gain direct benefit from participation.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the collected data could lead to clearer diagnostic patterns and better-targeted clinical decision-making for people with peripheral neuropathy.

How similar studies have performed: Electrodiagnostic testing and neuromuscular ultrasound are established diagnostic tools that have improved diagnosis in prior work, though large prospective collections combining both modalities remain relatively limited.
