What this trial studies

Researchers will perform a retrospective chart review of adults (≥18 years) with histologically confirmed colon or rectal cancer treated at Sohag University. They will extract demographic and personal history, comorbidities, clinical examination findings, complete blood counts and tumor markers, imaging results (ultrasound, CT, MRI), endoscopic reports, and pathology data. The analysis will describe prevalence and clinicopathological patterns and test associations between risk factors, serum markers, imaging/endoscopic features and disease severity to identify potential predictors. Cases with missing pathological or endoscopic data will be excluded from analyses.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Adults aged 18 and older with histopathology-confirmed colon or rectal cancer and complete clinical, endoscopic, and pathological records at Sohag University are the ideal candidates for inclusion.

Not a fit: Patients under 18, those with other primary malignancies, or cases lacking key endoscopic or pathological data are unlikely to receive benefit from this retrospective analysis.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the results could help clinicians identify features that predict more aggressive colorectal cancer and guide earlier or more tailored management for local patients.

How similar studies have performed: Similar retrospective clinicopathological studies have commonly identified links between presentation, imaging/endoscopic findings, serum markers and tumor stage, although specific predictors vary by population.
