What this trial studies
This study focuses on helping women regain a normal lifestyle after breast cancer treatment by addressing chronic fatigue through a structured brisk walking program. Participants will engage in supervised walking sessions twice a week for six weeks, aiming for an intensity of 60% of their maximum heart rate. The study compares the effects of supervised exercise versus home practice on fatigue reduction and overall well-being. The goal is to determine the best approach to enhance physical activity adherence and improve quality of life post-treatment.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are females aged 75 or younger who have completed chemotherapy or radiotherapy for breast cancer stages I to III and are currently undergoing hormone treatments.
Not a fit: Patients with stage IV breast cancer, those over 75 years old, or individuals with significant comorbidities that could interfere with the walking program may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly reduce fatigue and improve the quality of life for women recovering from breast cancer.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that supervised exercise can effectively reduce fatigue in cancer survivors, suggesting that this approach may yield positive results.
