Brief help for kids who resist bedtime
Brief Sleep Intervention for Bedtime Resistance

What this trial studies
This is a non-controlled feasibility trial delivering a brief behavioral sleep intervention during routine primary care visits by a behavioral health consultant. The intervention includes parent education on sleep hygiene and a 'Bedtime Pass' tool intended to reduce bedtime resistance. The study will measure whether the intervention can be delivered with fidelity within the time allotted and whether parents find it feasible and acceptable. No comparison group is included, as the focus is on implementation and acceptability in the primary care setting.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Caregivers of English-speaking children aged 3–7 who receive primary care at the study locations and report bedtime resistance are the intended participants.
Not a fit: Children already receiving more intensive sleep treatment or those with severe intellectual disability or other conditions that prevent participation are unlikely to benefit from this brief intervention.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, families could gain a quick, clinic-based strategy to reduce bedtime struggles and help children fall asleep independently.
How similar studies have performed: Behavioral approaches such as sleep hygiene education and bedtime pass strategies have shown benefit in pediatric sleep research, but delivering them briefly within routine primary care is less well studied.
