What this trial studies
This observational study aims to evaluate how pancreatic endotherapy affects patients with chronic pancreatitis, focusing on their quality of life, pain levels, and pancreatic function. By observing patients who are referred for endotherapy, the study seeks to gather data on patient-centered outcomes that have been underexplored in previous research. The goal is to better understand the benefits of endotherapy and identify which patients are most likely to experience improvements in their condition.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis who experience pain and are referred for pancreatic endotherapy.
Not a fit: Patients who have previously undergone pancreatic endotherapy or surgery, as well as those who are pregnant or unable to consent, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved management strategies for chronic pancreatitis, enhancing patients' quality of life and pain relief.
How similar studies have performed: While pancreatic endotherapy is a common procedure, the specific focus on patient-centered outcomes in chronic pancreatitis is less explored, making this study a novel approach.
