What this trial studies

This observational study aims to create a prospective registry of patients diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) in China. It will collect data on clinical characteristics, treatment trends during hospitalization, and long-term outcomes over a ten-year period, focusing on major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE). Key assessments will include echocardiograms, lung function tests, right heart catheterization, and exercise capacity measurements. The study will also track changes in patients' functional class and treatment responses.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension confirmed by right heart catheterization.

Not a fit: Patients who refuse to participate in the study will not benefit from its findings.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of PAH and improve risk assessment and management strategies for patients.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in using multi-marker approaches for risk assessment in cardiovascular diseases, suggesting potential for this methodology in PAH.
