What this trial studies

This observational study aims to evaluate the quality of life in patients suffering from prosthetic joint infections using the EQ-5D-3L validated questionnaire. It focuses on understanding the impact of these infections on patients' autonomy and overall well-being. The study will include patients over 18 years of age who have been diagnosed with a prosthetic joint infection and consent to participate. Exclusion criteria include those with cognitive impairments or other psychological conditions that may affect their ability to respond to the questionnaire.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults over 18 years old who have been diagnosed with a prosthetic joint infection.

Not a fit: Patients with cognitive impairments or those receiving psychological support outside the service may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into the quality of life impacts of prosthetic joint infections, leading to improved patient care and management strategies.

How similar studies have performed: There is limited existing research on the quality of life in patients with osteoarticular infections, making this study a novel approach.
