What this trial studies
This observational study aims to evaluate the quality of life (QoL) in pediatric patients suffering from urinary stone disease. It will utilize the pediatric quality of life (PedsQol) questionnaire to gather data and compare the results with those from a healthy age and sex-matched population. By understanding the impact of urinary stones on children's daily lives, the study seeks to highlight the importance of QoL in managing this condition.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are pediatric patients who have experienced urinary stones.
Not a fit: Patients with obstructive uropathy, recent surgical interventions, or associated chronic illnesses may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into the QoL of children with urinary stones, leading to improved management strategies.
How similar studies have performed: While there may be studies assessing QoL in adults with urinary stones, this specific focus on pediatric patients is relatively novel.
