Assessing how gliomas respond to radiochemotherapy using MRI and genetic data

Study on Radiogenomics Features Associated With Radiochemotherapy Sensitivity in Gliomas

Not applicable Interventional Beijing Tiantan Hospital · NCT06454097

What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the sensitivity of gliomas to radiochemotherapy by analyzing MRI data and genetic information from tumor samples. Patients with gliomas will undergo MRI scans at various stages: before surgery, before starting treatment, and after treatment completion. The study will extract radiomics features from these MRI images and combine them with transcriptomic data obtained from RNA sequencing of tumor tissues. A machine learning model will be developed to predict treatment response based on these combined data sets.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 or older with histologically confirmed gliomas who have not received prior treatments.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of other brain tumors or previous cranial surgeries may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more personalized treatment plans for glioma patients, improving their outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: While similar approaches using radiogenomics have shown promise in other cancers, this specific application in gliomas is relatively novel.
