What this trial studies
This observational study aims to determine the prevalence of Diabetic Kidney Disease (DKD) among diabetic patients at healthcare centers affiliated with the Bangladesh Diabetic Association (BADAS). It will evaluate management practices, risk factors, screening methods, and patient education related to DKD. The study will involve a cross-sectional design, assessing a sample of forty diabetic patients while excluding those with acute illnesses or kidney disease from other causes. The findings will provide evidence-based recommendations for improving DKD management in Bangladesh.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are registered diabetic patients receiving care at BADAS-affiliated healthcare centers.
Not a fit: Patients with acute kidney injury, known kidney disease from other causes, or those unwilling to participate may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved management practices and better health outcomes for diabetic patients at risk of kidney disease.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have indicated high prevalence rates of DKD in diabetic populations, suggesting that this approach to assessing and managing DKD is both relevant and necessary.
