What this trial studies
This observational research focuses on examining the sonographic characteristics of the interscalene brachial plexus. By utilizing ultrasound technology, the study aims to provide detailed insights into the anatomy of this nerve structure, which is crucial for various medical procedures. The study will involve patients scheduled for elective surgeries and will assess the anatomical features without any invasive interventions. The findings could enhance the understanding of brachial plexus anatomy and improve clinical practices related to nerve blocks.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients classified as ASA physical status class I or II who are scheduled for elective surgery.
Not a fit: Patients with existing brachial plexus injuries, peripheral neuropathy, or those who have had previous neck surgeries may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this research could lead to improved techniques for administering nerve blocks, enhancing patient outcomes during surgeries involving the brachial plexus.
How similar studies have performed: While this study focuses on a specific anatomical analysis, similar studies utilizing ultrasound for nerve visualization have shown promising results in improving clinical practices.
