Analyzing PET-CT Imaging Features of Meibomian Glands
PET-CT Imaging Features of Meibomian Glands
This study is trying to see if special imaging of the eye can help understand dry eye symptoms and the health of meibomian glands in patients who had PET-CT scans.

What this trial studies
This observational study collects and analyzes medical records of patients who visited the ophthalmology department at Zhongnan Hospital between January 2021 and December 2023 and underwent PET-CT examinations. It focuses on correlating dry eye analysis results with PET-CT imaging features, specifically evaluating lacrimal river height, tear film rupture time, and meibomian gland grade. The study aims to calculate the SUV values of the tarsal gland based on the collected imaging data and dry eye assessments.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients who have undergone a PET-CT examination and have had dry eye analysis performed within the specified timeframe.
Not a fit: Patients who have not undergone dry eye analysis or have a history of eye surgery or trauma may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the understanding of meibomian gland dysfunction and improve diagnostic approaches for dry eye conditions.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach is relatively novel, similar studies have explored imaging techniques in ophthalmology, but specific correlations with PET-CT imaging in meibomian gland dysfunction are less common.
