What this trial studies
This observational study aims to analyze the biomechanics of individuals suffering from degenerative spinal disease. It focuses on identifying the biomechanical variables impacted by the disease and how these variables change with disease progression and treatment. Participants will be monitored using kinematic sensors to gather data on their gait patterns. The findings could provide insights into the relationship between spinal degeneration and mobility.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 50 to 85 years with a clinical diagnosis of spinal disease lasting more than three months.
Not a fit: Patients with previous spine surgery, spinal instability, or significant neurological or orthopedic conditions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding and management of gait issues in patients with degenerative spinal disease.
How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have explored gait analysis in spinal conditions, this specific observational approach focusing on biomechanical variables is relatively novel.
