Analyzing corneal astigmatism measurements in different regions
Accuracy of Corneal Astigmatism in Different Region Modes
Wenzhou Medical University · NCT03299530

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to evaluate the differences between measured total corneal astigmatism and actual corneal astigmatism using various regional modes. The goal is to optimize the region settings for more accurate assessments. Patients with corneal astigmatism who have undergone phacoemulsification surgery will be included in the analysis. The study will focus on understanding how pupil size and other factors influence astigmatism measurements.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older who have undergone cataract surgery and have a certain level of corneal astigmatism.
Not a fit: Patients with severe irregular astigmatism, corneal diseases, or other ocular conditions that may affect visual acuity are unlikely to benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved accuracy in diagnosing and treating corneal astigmatism, enhancing visual outcomes for patients.
How similar studies have performed: While there may be studies on corneal astigmatism, this specific approach to analyzing measurements under different regional modes is relatively novel.
