What this trial studies

This observational study focuses on understanding the mechanisms behind colorectal cancer (CRC) metastasis by collecting clinical data and specimens from patients diagnosed with CRC and confirmed distant metastasis. Using integrative omics techniques such as RNA-sequencing and ATAC-seq, the study aims to identify and predict candidate biomarkers that could enhance personalized medicine approaches. The findings are expected to deepen the understanding of CRC metastasis and aid in the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic targets, ultimately improving patient prognoses.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients diagnosed with colorectal adenocarcinoma who have at least one confirmed metastatic lesion.

Not a fit: Patients with recent diagnoses of other malignancies or those unable to tolerate surgery may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more accurate prognostic tools and targeted therapies for patients with colorectal cancer.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing integrative omics approaches have shown promise in identifying biomarkers for various cancers, suggesting potential success for this novel application in colorectal cancer.
