What this trial studies
This study evaluates an internet-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy intervention called the Sleep Course, aimed at adults experiencing self-reported sleep difficulties such as insomnia, anxiety, and depression. Participants will engage in structured online lessons over several months, with optional therapist support via secure messaging or phone calls. The study seeks to replicate the effectiveness of the Sleep Course in a routine online therapy clinic in Australia, assessing both uptake and completion rates as well as the demographic and clinical characteristics of participants. The research addresses the need for accessible psychological treatments for common sleep issues that often co-occur with mood disorders.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older living in Saskatchewan who report difficulties with sleep that cause daytime impairment.
Not a fit: Patients with severe medical or psychiatric disorders requiring immediate treatment or those currently participating in another treatment at the clinic may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve sleep quality and reduce daytime distress for patients suffering from insomnia and related conditions.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that internet-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy is effective for various conditions, including insomnia, suggesting a promising outlook for this approach.
