AI-based early detection of pancreatic cancer using routine CT scans
Artificial Intelligence-based Health Information Management System and Key Technology Study of Early Screening and Hierarchical Diagnosis and Treatment of Pancreatic Cancer
This study is testing an AI system that uses regular CT scans to see if it can help find pancreatic cancer early in people who are at high risk.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to evaluate an AI-powered system for the early detection of pancreatic cancer and its precursor lesions through non-contrast computed tomography (NCCT) scans performed during routine clinical visits. By utilizing existing imaging resources, the study seeks to enhance screening coverage among high-risk populations without the need for additional infrastructure. The AI model will automatically identify pancreatic abnormalities, and algorithm-positive cases will be reviewed by radiologists for further diagnostic verification. Patients with confirmed diagnoses will receive specialized treatment and multidisciplinary consultation.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals undergoing routine non-contrast CT scans for non-pancreatic health issues.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of pancreatic cancer or those referred for suspected pancreatic cancer will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve early detection rates of pancreatic cancer, leading to better patient outcomes and survival rates.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using AI for medical imaging, suggesting potential success for this novel approach in pancreatic cancer detection.
