AI-based diagnostic model for detecting lymphatic metastasis in cancer
Development and Prospective Validation of a Digital Pathology-based Artificial Intelligence Diagnostic Model for Pan-cancer Lymphatic Metastasis

What this trial studies
This study aims to develop and validate an artificial intelligence (AI) diagnostic model for detecting lymphatic metastasis in cancer patients. It will compare the performance of the AI model against traditional pathological evaluations conducted by pathologists to assess improvements in diagnostic accuracy and efficiency. The study involves collecting and digitizing pathological slides from patients who have undergone cancer surgery, allowing the AI to analyze these images and generate diagnostic results. The goal is to enhance the clinical workflow and reduce missed diagnoses of lymph node metastasis.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are cancer patients who are undergoing radical tumor resection and lymph node dissection.
Not a fit: Patients who refuse to participate in the diagnostic test will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this AI model could significantly improve the accuracy of lymph node metastasis detection, leading to better treatment decisions and outcomes for cancer patients.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using AI for diagnostic purposes in pathology, indicating potential success for this approach.
