What this trial studies

This study evaluates the effectiveness of the SiD software, which uses artificial intelligence to assist in selecting sperm for intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) in medically assisted reproduction. The research focuses on measuring outcomes such as fertilization rates, blastocyst formation, and early pregnancy loss. By employing a mathematical model, SiD aims to enhance the traditional sperm selection process performed by embryologists, potentially leading to improved clinical outcomes in fertility treatments.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include couples undergoing ICSI with a male partner providing motile sperm and a female partner with at least four mature oocytes.

Not a fit: Patients with immotile sperm or those requiring sperm extraction via testicular biopsy may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve fertilization and pregnancy rates for couples facing infertility.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of AI in sperm selection is a novel approach, similar studies have shown promising results in improving assisted reproductive technologies.
