What this trial studies
This project aims to adapt a validated clinical decision support tool for pneumonia care, originally designed for emergency departments, to function effectively in urgent care clinics. The adaptation will incorporate an artificial intelligence model for rapid chest image analysis and will be tested among selected clinicians in Utah's Instacare facilities. The implementation will follow best practices from the CFIR framework to ensure usability and effectiveness in a real-world setting. The goal is to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of pneumonia in ambulatory care settings, especially as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients aged 12 and older who have pneumonia confirmed by radiographic imaging.
Not a fit: Patients without radiographic confirmation of pneumonia or those experiencing recurrent pneumonia episodes within the last 12 months may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this tool could significantly improve the accuracy and speed of pneumonia diagnosis and treatment in urgent care settings.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in adapting clinical decision support tools for different healthcare settings, indicating a promising approach for this adaptation.
Eligibility criteria
