What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a Patient Decision Aid for Medication-Assisted Treatment (PtDA-MAT) designed for adults with opioid use disorder (OUD). Conducted as a stepped-wedge cluster-randomized trial in California's Health and Social Services, the project will assess patient outcomes through personal assessments and clinical records over a period of 24 months. The goal is to enhance patient knowledge and involvement in their treatment, thereby improving adherence and overall outcomes. The study will also support clinicians in better communicating with their patients throughout the treatment process.
