What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a workplace intervention combining therapeutic exercise with pain education compared to therapeutic exercise alone for reducing back pain in sedentary administrative personnel. Participants will engage in active pauses at work using a web-based program featuring exercise videos and pain education materials. The study employs a mixed methodology, starting with qualitative interviews to understand workers' expectations about pain and exercise, followed by a randomized controlled trial to assess the interventions' outcomes. The goal is to provide a comprehensive and practical approach to managing musculoskeletal pain in office settings.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are sedentary administrative personnel experiencing non-specific back pain for more than three months.
Not a fit: Patients with chronic pain conditions, radiculopathies, or those who are physically active outside of work may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly reduce back pain and improve the quality of life for sedentary office workers.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown positive outcomes with similar workplace interventions, indicating potential for success in this approach.
