What this trial studies
This cross-sectional observational project uses an anonymous online questionnaire grounded in the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) model to measure job demands, resources, burnout, engagement, psychological safety, job satisfaction, turnover intention, and subjective service quality. It aims to recruit 600 healthcare professionals (200 nurses, 200 psychologists, 200 doctors) employed in psychiatric-psychosomatic clinics across Germany and collects standardized scale data at a single time point via the SoSci Survey platform. Participants are recruited by email invitations sent to clinics, and all data will be anonymized and handled according to ethical and data protection rules. Statistical analyses will examine mediating roles of burnout and engagement and moderating effects of psychological safety on the relationships between demands/resources and outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal participants are nurses, psychologists, or doctors aged 18 or older who work in German psychiatric-psychosomatic clinics, can read German, and consent to complete an online questionnaire.
Not a fit: People who are not clinical staff in psychiatric-psychosomatic settings, cannot complete a German survey, or work outside Germany are unlikely to benefit directly from this project.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the findings could guide changes to working conditions that improve staff well-being and thereby enhance patient care quality and safety.
How similar studies have performed: Previous JD-R based cross-sectional studies in healthcare commonly report associations between job demands/resources and burnout, engagement, and turnover, but intervention studies have produced mixed results.
