What this trial studies

This clinical trial investigates the effects of whole-body vibration training combined with traditional physical therapy on pediatric patients with thermal burns. A total of 60 participants aged 10 to 16 years with partial and full thickness burns will be randomly assigned to either a study group receiving vibration training or a control group receiving standard physical therapy. The study group will engage in vibration exercises on a platform for 12-15 minutes, five times a week, alongside a 60-minute supervised exercise program over eight weeks. The aim is to assess the efficacy of this innovative approach in improving recovery outcomes for young burn patients.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are children aged 10 to 16 years with 25-40% partial and full thickness burns of the lower limb and trunk.

Not a fit: Patients with open burn wounds, severe cognitive disorders, or other significant medical conditions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance recovery and rehabilitation for pediatric patients with thermal burn injuries.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of whole-body vibration training is gaining interest, this specific application in pediatric burn recovery is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in prior studies.
