What this trial studies

The intervention delivers an online breastfeeding education program built on the Information‑Motivation‑Behavioral Skills (IMB) model, combined with motivational interview sessions and behavioral skills practice for fathers. Eligible first-time fathers who read Turkish and have internet access complete the web modules and scheduled remote sessions. Researchers measure changes in fathers' breastfeeding knowledge, motivation, behavioral skills, and self‑efficacy, and track reported paternal support and breastfeeding exclusivity after the intervention. The program is implemented through Sakarya University with pre- and post-intervention data collection to capture changes over time.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are first-time fathers aged 19 or older who live with their partner, can read Turkish, have internet access, and have a healthy full-term baby.

Not a fit: Fathers of premature or multiple babies, fathers who do not speak Turkish or lack internet access, or families with maternal postpartum depression or infants in the neonatal ICU are unlikely to benefit from this program.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the program could increase fathers' practical and emotional support and help raise exclusive breastfeeding rates.

How similar studies have performed: Previous father-focused breastfeeding education studies have shown benefits for paternal support and breastfeeding outcomes, though web-based IMB-model interventions are less commonly tested.
