What this trial studies
This project aims to develop a metaverse simulation platform for lung surgery using virtual reality (VR) technologies. It focuses on training novice surgeons through realistic simulations that provide feedback on essential skills such as hand feel and instrument coordination. The platform will also serve as a rehearsal tool for complex surgeries, enhancing safety and efficiency. By utilizing high-resolution CT scans to create digital twins, the platform seeks to improve surgical outcomes while addressing ethical concerns related to training on actual patients.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study include physicians who can provide high-resolution CT scans for simulation purposes.
Not a fit: Patients without high-resolution CT scans or those who are under 18 years old may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this platform could significantly enhance the training of surgeons, leading to safer surgical procedures and improved patient outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While the concept of using virtual reality for surgical training is gaining traction, this specific approach of creating a comprehensive metaverse platform is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in prior studies.
Eligibility criteria
Show full inclusion / exclusion criteria
Inclusion Criteria: 1. Physicians assess suitable candidates. 2. Consent to the use of their high-resolution computed tomography (CT) scan results as digital simulation material for the establishment of a virtual reality surgical platform. Exclusion Criteria: 1. Those without high-resolution computed tomography (CT) scan results. 2. Any conditions and circumstances that the trial principal investigator believes may affect the establishment of the trial platform. 3. Those who have concerns about providing their own CT data. 4. (For trial user) The exclusion criteria are: * (1) Individuals under the age of 18 are excluded. * (2) Any condition or circumstance that the principal investigator deems may affect the establishment of the trial platform. * (3) Those who have concerns about providing their own data related to using the surgical simulation platform.
