Virtual physical therapy support for runners recovering from injuries
Virtual Physical Therapy Support for Runners Receiving Gait Analyses for Lower Body Running Related Musculoskeletal Issues
This study tests whether adding virtual physical therapy sessions to regular home exercises can help runners aged 18 to 65 recover better from chronic lower body injuries.

What this trial studies
This study compares standard home exercise rehabilitation for runners with an additional four-session virtual physical therapy support program. The aim is to assess the impact of this combined approach on pain and physical function, specifically focusing on controlled dual and single leg squats and lateral hopping. Participants will include individuals aged 18 to 65 who have experienced chronic lower body running-related injuries. The findings will provide new insights into the effectiveness of virtual physical therapy interventions for runners.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are runners aged 18 to 65 who regularly run at least 12 miles a week and have chronic lower body running-related injuries.
Not a fit: Patients with acute running-related injuries or significant neurological or degenerative musculoskeletal diseases may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance recovery outcomes for runners with musculoskeletal complications.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with virtual physical therapy approaches, suggesting potential for success in this novel application.
