What this trial studies

This study evaluates the effectiveness of video-based training for caregivers of patients at high risk of developing pressure injuries. It aims to enhance caregivers' knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, and reactions towards caregiving through a randomized controlled experimental design. A total of 270 participants will be divided into three groups: one receiving video training, another receiving standard training, and a control group. The study will take place in the inpatient units of Gaziantep City Hospital over a two-year period.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are caregivers aged 18 and older who are literate, can communicate verbally, and are responsible for patients with moderate to high risk of pressure injuries.

Not a fit: Patients who are cared for by caregivers with low Braden Pressure Ulcer Risk Assessment Scale scores may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this training could significantly improve caregivers' ability to prevent pressure injuries, enhancing patient outcomes and quality of life.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on video-based training specifically for caregivers, similar educational interventions have shown promise in improving care practices in other healthcare settings.
