What this trial studies

This study investigates the immediate effects of vibrotactile stimulation on pain relief, sensory perception, and functionality in patients suffering from lateral epicondylitis, commonly known as tennis elbow. Lateral epicondylitis is a chronic condition characterized by pain and functional disability due to degenerative changes at the elbow. The study aims to compare the effects of vibrotactile stimulation with traditional physiotherapy to determine its efficacy in improving patient outcomes. Participants will be assessed for pain levels, grip strength, and overall functionality following treatment.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18-65 who have been diagnosed with lateral epicondylitis.

Not a fit: Patients who have undergone elbow surgery or have other orthopedic, neurological, or rheumatological conditions affecting the upper limb may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could provide a non-invasive treatment option that significantly alleviates pain and improves functionality for patients with lateral epicondylitis.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited evidence on the effectiveness of vibrotactile stimulation specifically for lateral epicondylitis, similar approaches in other conditions have shown promise, making this a potentially novel intervention.
