What this trial studies

This study aims to validate the French version of the 'Patients' Endorsement of a Biopsychosocial Model of Chronic Pain' scale by comparing it to the established 'pain self-efficacy' questionnaire. The primary objective is to determine if the new scale effectively measures beliefs about the biopsychosocial nature of chronic pain in adults. Patients with chronic pain will complete the questionnaires during consultations, and their responses will be analyzed to assess the scale's validity.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are French-speaking adults aged 18 and older with chronic pain lasting longer than three months.

Not a fit: Patients who cannot understand the consent form or questionnaires due to language barriers or cognitive impairments may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a reliable tool for assessing chronic pain beliefs, potentially improving patient education and self-efficacy.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in validating similar assessment tools, indicating that this approach is promising.
