What this trial studies

This study investigates the impact of wearable technology on the recovery of patients who have undergone laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer. By monitoring patient mobilization in the early postoperative period, the researchers aim to determine if increased mobility leads to quicker bowel movement recovery. The study focuses on patients who have had curative surgeries for stages 0 to 3 of colorectal cancer. The primary intervention involves providing mobilization recommendations based on data collected from wearable devices.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients who have undergone laparoscopic abdominal surgery for curative treatment of colorectal cancer at stages 0 to 3.

Not a fit: Patients who cannot walk, have undergone open procedures, or have palliative surgeries will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to faster recovery times and improved postoperative outcomes for colorectal cancer patients.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of wearable technology in postoperative care is gaining interest, this specific application in colorectal cancer surgery is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
