What this trial studies
This study investigates the effectiveness of core stability exercises delivered via fully immersive virtual reality for postpartum women suffering from lumbopelvic pain. It will involve 60 female participants who will be randomly assigned to two groups to assess the impact of this innovative approach on their pain and functional improvement. The study aims to collect data over one year following approval from the institutional review board at the Shalamar Institute of Health Sciences. Participants will be selected based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria to ensure a focused evaluation of the intervention's efficacy.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are postpartum women experiencing acute or chronic lumbopelvic pain.
Not a fit: Patients with structural spinal disorders, high-risk pregnancies, or a history of significant spinal or pelvic surgeries may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly alleviate lumbopelvic pain in postpartum women, improving their quality of life and functional abilities.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of virtual reality in rehabilitation is gaining traction, this specific application for postpartum lumbopelvic pain is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in prior studies.
