What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the My Health Coach app in improving the quality of life for adults with fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD). Participants will be randomly assigned to either use the app immediately or join a wait-list group, with their progress assessed through surveys at the start, 6 weeks, and 12 weeks. The study focuses on measuring perceived well-being, psychological needs, and self-management readiness, while also analyzing app usage patterns. By comparing outcomes between the two groups, researchers hope to determine the app's impact on daily functioning and quality of life.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older who have a fetal alcohol spectrum disorder or a history of prenatal alcohol exposure.
Not a fit: Patients who have previously participated in the feasibility trial of the My Health Coach app may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this app could significantly enhance the daily lives and overall well-being of adults living with FASD.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach is innovative, similar studies have shown promise in using technology to support individuals with various health conditions.
