What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on the implementation of the Functional Movement Screen™ (FMS™) as a tool for preventing injuries among amateur rugby players. The FMS™ evaluates functional movement patterns to identify potential risks for injuries, which are prevalent in the sport due to its physical demands. The study aims to assess the practicality and effectiveness of this injury prevention tool within a specific population of rugby players licensed by the French Rugby Federation. Participants will be monitored for adherence to the program and its impact on injury rates.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy amateur rugby players aged 18 and older, affiliated with the French Rugby Federation and competing in 'Fédérale 3'.
Not a fit: Patients who may not benefit from this study include female players, minors, and those with a history of serious injuries or who have been professional athletes.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly reduce the incidence of injuries among amateur rugby players.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of the Functional Movement Screen™ has been explored in various sports, its specific application in amateur rugby for injury prevention is relatively novel.
