What this trial studies

This study evaluates the effectiveness of using the Apollo mobile application for patient discharge in the maternal and fetal medicine unit compared to the traditional discharge process. Women admitted to the unit will receive their discharge letters through the app, allowing for a quicker discharge experience. The study will assess discharge data, patient satisfaction, and safety outcomes associated with this new approach. By comparing these metrics with the routine discharge process, the study aims to determine if the app enhances patient experience and efficiency.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are women aged 18 and older who are admitted to the maternal and fetal medicine unit and intend to be discharged before delivery.

Not a fit: Patients who deliver during their admission or do not own a smartphone may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve patient satisfaction and streamline the discharge process for women in maternal and fetal medicine.

How similar studies have performed: While the specific use of the Apollo app is novel, similar studies have shown that mobile applications can enhance patient satisfaction and efficiency in healthcare settings.
