Using Sildenafil Citrate to Improve Frozen Embryo Transfer Success

The Effect of Sildenafil Citrate on the Endometrial Thickness and Pregnancy Rates of Frozen Embryo Transfer Cycles

PHASE2; PHASE3 · Beni-Suef University · NCT05951413

What this trial studies

This study investigates the impact of sildenafil citrate on endometrial preparation for patients undergoing frozen-thawed embryo transfer. A total of 110 patients will be randomly assigned to two groups: one receiving estradiol alone and the other receiving sildenafil citrate in addition to estradiol. The primary focus is to assess the effect of these treatments on endometrial thickness and subsequent pregnancy rates. Endometrial thickness will be monitored via transvaginal ultrasound throughout the cycle, with adjustments made to medication based on thickness measurements.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are women under 40 years old with high-quality frozen embryos.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of endocrine diseases or previous implantation failures may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance pregnancy rates for patients undergoing frozen embryo transfers.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of sildenafil in reproductive medicine is being explored, this specific approach to frozen embryo transfer is relatively novel.
