What this trial studies
This clinical trial evaluates the effects of Sanghuangporus sanghuang mycelia (SS-MN4) capsules on anti-fatigue and muscle performance in healthy adult males aged 20 to 35 who do not engage in regular exercise. The study is randomized, double-blind, and placebo-controlled, involving 60 participants who will receive either SS-MN4 capsules or a placebo for 42 days. The primary outcomes include improvements in exercise performance, muscle strength, and biochemical markers related to fatigue and muscle damage. The trial aims to address the decline in muscle mass and function associated with aging and sedentary lifestyles through nutritional supplementation.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy male adults aged 20 to 35 who do not engage in regular exercise and meet specific health criteria.
Not a fit: Patients with chronic diseases, regular exercise habits, or those taking dietary supplements may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could enhance physical performance and reduce fatigue in healthy adults, potentially improving their overall quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: While there is growing interest in nutritional interventions for muscle performance, this specific approach using Sanghuangporus sanghuang is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in similar studies.
