Using robotic gloves with mirror therapy to improve hand function in stroke patients
Effects of Robotic Gloves Along With Task-oriented Mirror Therapy on Motor Functions of Hands in Sub-acute Stroke Patients
This study is testing if using robotic gloves with mirror therapy can help stroke patients improve their hand function better than just using traditional mirror therapy.

What this trial studies
This randomized control trial investigates the effects of robotic gloves-assisted task-oriented mirror therapy compared to traditional task-oriented mirror therapy on the motor functions of the hands in sub-acute stroke patients. The study aims to enhance understanding of how integrating robotic technology can improve rehabilitation outcomes. Participants will engage in therapy designed to improve dexterity and manipulative skills, with a focus on grasping and releasing movements. The trial will assess the efficacy of these interventions in promoting better functional performance and patient compliance.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 40 and above who have experienced an ischemic stroke and meet specific cognitive and motor function criteria.
Not a fit: Patients with severe musculoskeletal problems, contractures, or significant visual impairments may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly enhance rehabilitation outcomes for stroke patients by improving hand motor functions.
How similar studies have performed: While mirror therapy has been well-studied, the integration of robotic gloves in this context is relatively novel and less explored.
