What this trial studies

This study evaluates the effectiveness and feasibility of a rehabilitation protocol that combines prismatic lenses with transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) to reduce signs of spatial neglect in patients who have experienced an ischemic stroke in the right hemisphere. Participants will be compared against a control group receiving prismatic lens therapy with sham stimulation. The study also aims to assess the impact of this combined approach on functional outcomes for the patients involved.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 who have experienced an ischemic stroke within the last 90 days and exhibit signs of spatial heminegligence.

Not a fit: Patients with hemorrhagic strokes, pre-existing neurological or psychiatric conditions, or those with substance abuse issues may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve rehabilitation outcomes for stroke patients suffering from neglect.

How similar studies have performed: While the combination of prismatic lenses and tDCS is a novel approach, similar studies have shown promise in addressing neglect in stroke patients.
