What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of a personalized music intervention on anxiety, pain, and dissatisfaction in patients undergoing autogenous gingival grafts. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either personalized music, an audiobook, or standard care during their procedure. The aim is to determine if music can provide a non-invasive and cost-effective way to improve patient experiences in dental settings. The study will involve a total of 60 participants, with each group consisting of 20 individuals.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older who require a gingival graft lasting no more than 1.5 hours.
Not a fit: Patients who do not require a gingival graft or have mental health, neurological, or auditory disorders may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly enhance patient comfort and satisfaction during dental procedures.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that music interventions can effectively reduce anxiety and pain in various medical settings, suggesting a promising approach for this study.
