What this trial studies

This exploratory study investigates the effects of daily applications of Omega-3 monoglyceride serum and cream on eczema severity. Sixteen participants will be enrolled and divided into two groups, each receiving different formulations for 42 days. The study aims to assess the prebiotic potential of these topical products and monitor any adverse effects. The baseline condition will serve as a control to evaluate the treatment's effectiveness on the targeted eczema area.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older diagnosed with eczema who have not used corticosteroids in the two weeks prior to the study.

Not a fit: Patients who have used corticosteroids recently or are unable to comply with the study protocol may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a novel topical treatment option for patients suffering from eczema.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of Omega-3 fatty acids in skin care is recognized, this specific approach using pre-activated Omega-3 monoglycerides is novel and has not been extensively tested in similar studies.
