Using multi-omics to improve diagnosis and treatment of urinary system tumors

The Research Value of Multi-omics and Multi-modal Information in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Urinary System Tumors

Observational Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology · NCT06490211

This study is trying to collect and analyze tumor samples from patients with bladder, kidney, and prostate cancers to see if new techniques can help improve how we diagnose and treat these tumors.

What this trial studies

This observational study aims to collect tumor tissue samples from patients diagnosed with urinary system carcinomas, including bladder, kidney, and prostate cancers. The study will utilize advanced techniques such as RNA-sequencing, single-cell RNA-sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, proteomics, and analysis of the intratumoral microbiome to gather comprehensive biological data. By integrating these multi-omics and multi-modal approaches, the study seeks to enhance understanding of tumor biology and improve diagnostic and treatment strategies for affected patients.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults over 18 years old who have been treated for bladder, kidney, or prostate cancer and have confirmed diagnoses through tissue biopsy.

Not a fit: Patients with poor image quality, incomplete clinical data, or other primary malignant tumors may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment options for patients with urinary system tumors.

How similar studies have performed: While multi-omics approaches are gaining traction, this specific integration of techniques in urinary system tumors is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in prior studies.
