What this trial studies

This observational study involves 178 patients diagnosed with bladder neoplastic lesions who are scheduled for surgical intervention. Participants will undergo pelvic MRI using a Siemens VIDA 3T MR scanner to obtain high-quality images of their tumors. The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of MRI in providing detailed imaging of bladder tumors within a specific timeframe following surgical resection. Data collected will be statistically analyzed to assess the imaging outcomes.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients with pathologically confirmed bladder cancer who are scheduled for radical or partial cystectomy or TURBT within two weeks of imaging.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of chemotherapy or radiotherapy, or those who do not undergo surgical resection, may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the accuracy of bladder tumor assessments, leading to improved surgical planning and patient outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results using MRI for tumor imaging, indicating that this approach is supported by existing research.
