Using MRI and ultrasound together for muscle injections
Ultrasound - MRI Fusion Guided Injections in Muscles
This study is testing whether using MRI along with ultrasound can help doctors give more accurate Botox injections into muscles compared to just using ultrasound alone.

What this trial studies
This study explores a novel technique that combines MRI and ultrasound imaging to guide Botox injections into muscles. By using MRI as a roadmap, the researchers aim to improve the accuracy of injections compared to standard ultrasound guidance alone. Participants will be randomly assigned to either the MRI fusion group or the control group, which will receive standard ultrasound guidance. The study will assess the effectiveness of this new approach in ensuring the injectate is delivered to the correct muscle. Follow-up evaluations will be conducted to monitor outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adult patients needing ultrasound-guided Botox injections in the Radiology Department.
Not a fit: Patients who are children, unable to consent, or have contraindications to MRI scanning may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this technique could enhance the precision of muscle injections, leading to better treatment outcomes for patients requiring Botox.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of MRI and ultrasound fusion is a novel approach in muscle injections, similar imaging techniques have shown promise in other medical applications.
