What this trial studies

This observational study aims to improve the diagnosis of Brucella spondylitis, an infectious spinal disease, by utilizing advanced MRI techniques and radiomics analysis. The study will involve 100 patients diagnosed with Brucella spondylitis at the Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical University, where clinical data and MRI scans will be collected. The investigators will segment affected vertebral bodies and extract radiomics features to develop predictive models using machine learning techniques. The goal is to enhance diagnostic accuracy and provide better insights into the disease's pathophysiology.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18-70 who have been diagnosed with brucellosis and exhibit symptoms of brucella spondylitis.

Not a fit: Patients with serious comorbidities, a history of malignant tumors of the vertebral body, or contraindications to MRI may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more accurate and non-invasive diagnostic methods for Brucella spondylitis, improving patient outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of radiomics in MRI for diagnosing various conditions is gaining traction, this specific application for Brucella spondylitis is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in prior studies.
