What this trial studies

This observational study evaluates the impact of motivational interviewing on mothers' perceptions of insufficient milk, breastfeeding motivation, and cortisol levels. Motivational interviewing is a client-centered approach designed to enhance self-efficacy and motivation in decision-making. The study focuses on mothers who believe they are not producing enough milk, which can be influenced by stress and emotional factors. By addressing these perceptions, the study aims to improve breastfeeding outcomes and maternal well-being.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are primiparous mothers aged 18 and over who exclusively breastfeed and believe they are not producing enough milk.

Not a fit: Patients who cannot communicate in Turkish or who do not agree to participate will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance breastfeeding motivation and reduce stress-related cortisol levels in new mothers.

How similar studies have performed: While motivational interviewing has been used in various fields, this specific application to breastfeeding perception and cortisol levels is novel and has not been extensively tested.
